A prática de Profissionais de Educação Física na Saúde: um estudo de caso sobre o Programa Academia da Saúde em um município da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study aimed to analyze the practices of Physical Education Professionals in Health (PEPH) in the Health Academy Program (HAP) and the impacts of this praxis in the territory of activity. The method used was the case study, carried out in a city in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. For the production of empirical material, visits were made to the municipality, to the HAP poles, observations in a field diary and interviews. Regarding the impacts of the practices of PEPH acting in the HAP in the community, it was noticed that the health promotion actions surpassed the initial purpose of the program, including mental health aspects. It is argued that the effectiveness of the PEPH praxis depends on the attentive and effective understanding of the policy by the actors, as well as on the expansion and qualification of investments in articulation with other public health policies, in addition to strengthening permanent education and rethinking the form of hiring of the PEPH Keywords: physical education; public health; health care.
