Impactos dos tratamentos para melasma na qualidade de vida e autoestima feminina: uma revisão integrativa

Objetivos: Analisar os impactos dos tratamentos para melasma na qualidade de vida e na autoestima de mulheres, condição caracterizada como hiperpigmentação cutânea crônica, multifatorial e recorrente, para a qual ainda não existe protocolo terapêutico padrão consolidado. Fonte de Dados: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, conduzida entre novembro e dezembro de 2024, com busca nas bases de dados PubMed, Scopus e Web of Science. Foram elegíveis estudos observacionais e intervencionais publicados entre 2019 e 2024, em inglês e/ou português, realizados exclusivamente com mulheres com melasma e que empregaram instrumentos validados de avaliação da qualidade de vida. A seleção e a extração dos dados foram conduzidas por dois pesquisadores de forma independente, com divergências resolvidas por consenso. De 436 estudos identificados, 19 atenderam aos critérios de inclusão. Resumo das Conclusões: Os 19 estudos incluídos apresentaram, em sua maioria, delineamento intervencional. Identificou-se ampla diversidade terapêutica, com destaque para a hidroquinona, utilizada isoladamente ou em combinação. A qualidade de vida foi avaliada predominantemente pelo instrumento MELASQoL. Os achados indicaram que a redução das manchas associa-se à melhora significativa da qualidade de vida e da autoestima das pacientes, enquanto estudos observacionais confirmaram o impacto negativo do melasma nesses desfechos. Limitações como amostras reduzidas e ausência de seguimento a longo prazo restringem a generalização dos resultados, reforçando a necessidade de investigações mais robustas.
