Objective: to describe the performance of a multidisciplinary team of Mental Health residents from the Professor Edgard Santos University Hospital, linked to the Federal University of Bahia, in a Family Health Unit during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The fieldwork was carried out during a curricular internship at a Family Health Unit in the health district of Subúrbio Ferroviário in the city of Salvador-Ba, between March and May of 2021.The field diary with records on the activities carried out by the residents was used as the main material for data collection. Results: Initially, the team carried out territorialization and conversation circles with the Community Health Agents. Based on the demands found in the territory and in the Family Health Unit, activities were carried out such as: mapping the services that make up the Health Care Network; shared services; health education actions and participation in COVID-19 testing. Conclusion: It was found that the Family Health Strategy, in the territory that served as the field of this report, has been fundamental in combating the advance of the pandemic, despite the limitations imposed on the service and the reduction of some care practices, such as home visits and health education activities. It was also identified the weaknesses of access that were accentuated with the pandemic (failures in the mechanisms of reference and counter-reference; lack of knowledge, on the part of users, of the equipment of the Health Care Network and incipient communication between professionals at the Family Health Unit).
