Abstract

Report the experience regarding the actions developed by the university extension, in relation to the training activities of health teams, during the “Immunization: vaccine yes!” project. In total, the three classes of the course had 401 enrollees, 65 of whom were in class 1; 87 in class 2; and 249 in class 3. Classes 1 and 2 had the participation of health professionals representing 80% of the health units in the municipality of Vitória, and the other 20% health professionals from Services specialized in Engineering Safety and Occupational Medicine (SESMT), private companies, industry and higher and technical education institutions in the health area. The course contributed to a greater understanding of the topic and encouraged changes in the local work process. However, it was possible to identify obstacles to the permanence of course participants, such as: difficulty in accessing communication and information technologies on the part of health professionals; lack of time to develop course activities; and the lack of active involvement of students in solving tasks. Given the results obtained, it was possible to observe that the course allowed the team to experience essential experiences for knowledge related to teaching-learning and immunization.
