Objectives: To analyze the available evidence in the literature on the barriers and challenges faced by Black people in the breastfeeding process. Data source: An integrative literature review was conducted in three databases: BDENF (Nursing Database), LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences), and MEDLINE (National Library of Medicine's), using the descriptors "Breastfeeding," "Black Population," and the Boolean operator "AND" to refine the information and direct the data search. Summary of conclusions: The scarcity of specific studies highlights important gaps in the literature; the limited number of studies reinforces the need to expand investigations that address, in an intersectional way, the barriers and challenges faced by Black people in breastfeeding.
