Abstract

Abstract Objectives: To analyze the level of knowledge of health professionals about the practice of early mobilization (EM) in a reference university hospital in Belém do Pará. Methods: Analytical, cross-sectional, quantitative, single center study with health professionals who are part of the assistance of the João de Barros Barreto University Hospital. The questionnaire was reproduced through the online tool Google Forms. The professionals had access through a link. To compare the results of the questionnaires, as well as the association between the professional category and the items answered, the text Chi Square was used, adopting a significance level (p value) ? 5%. To study the agreement on the indications and contraindications of early mobilization among professionals, the Kappa indicator was used. Results: The sample consisted of 78 professionals, the work sector in which more professionals participated was the Intensive Care Unit with 37 (37.4%) individuals, with the professionals working mostly in the morning shift. About 80% (p= 0.001) of hospital health professionals reported having knowledge about early mobilization. Conclusion: In general, the professionals who most knew the indications and contraindications/interruption criteria for EM were the physiotherapists. The hospital's multidisciplinary team has knowledge about the practice of early mobilization.
