Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the physiotherapy undergraduate students' perception of limitations and benefits regarding access, adherence and learning of social media of the extension project “Fisio Mulher UFES”. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study, carried out with undergraduate of the Physiotherapy Course at the Federal University of Espírito Santo matriculated in Women's Health Physiotherapy discipline in second semester of 2021 in the hybrid format (remote theoretical classes and face-to-face practical classes). The professor responsible for the discipline made available, in a systematic way throughout the semester, in the virtual learning environment (Google Sala de Aula), content produced by the extension project “Fisio Mulher UFES”, being 71 of which from Instagram and 6 from Youtube. In the last week of the 2021/2 semester, an invitation to participate in the study was sent via email with an online form, which was completed by the undergraduates who agreed to participate. Results: Nineteen undergraduates completed the form. All answered that they know and access the media. Most used them (95%) and did not report any limitations (79%). Several benefits were identified by accessing and using media. The majority (84%) answered that the use of social media contributed to learning when compared to disciplines that did not use them. Both media (Instagram and Youtube) showed high overall satisfaction (9.1± 1.5). Conclusion: The undergraduates' perception of the social media of the extension project “Fisio Mulher UFES” is that accessing and using it brings many benefits, especially for learning, with the majority reporting having no access limitations.
