Abstract

sionals in the Western macroregion of Bahia. This is a cross-sectional study with a quantitative and descriptive approach, conducted through the Web Survey strategy, from February to May 2021, with health professionals working in the region. The study included 186 professionals from 22 distinct professional categories from 23 municipalities in the region. Of the total number of interviewees, 63 participants (33.9%) tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, with predominance of females (70.0%), age between 30-39 years (47.6%), contaminated nurses (25.4%) and mild form of the disease (76.2%), however, 15.9% (n=10) developed sequelae and 11.1% (n=07) required readaptations of work activities. 40.9% of the interviewees (n=76) reported that after the beginning of the pandemic they developed some mental problem or had worsening of the existing condition and 58.1% (n=108) reported unavailability of a support network with psychology and psychiatry services in the workplace. For the above, it is increasingly important to adoption/update health protection, promotion and recovery strategies directed to these professionals, considering their different realities and needs.
