Abstract

Introduction: Collective Health is a field of knowledge that stands out for its transformation through the continuous inclusion of disciplines from different scientific fields, thus being irreducible to a monodisciplinary paradigm. Objectives: This study sought to explore possible elective affinities between occupational therapy and public health. Method: A scope review was carried out in the Virtual Health Library database, with the terms “occupational therapy”, “collective health”, “public health” and “community health”. Results: Seven articles were selected for the review, which thematized the universe of management, prevention of diseases and injuries, health promotion, the communitarian context of practices, population health and the occupational dimension of care. Furthermore, the study was able to perceive nuances about key concepts and their distinct definitions found in the literature. Conclusion: This article can feed the debate about the elective affinities between occupational therapy and public health, as well as support the knowledge of occupational therapy in public health.
