Abstract

The article presents reflections on the health scenario of the quilombola population of the Andirá River, in the Lower Amazon River region, whose methodological approach was based on the cartography of the senses, as well as narrative and participant observation as the main tools for data production. Understanding that social group as a perfect representative of the uniqueness of the Amazonian territories, we find that the guarantee of comprehensive health care, as well as other actions for the well-being of quilombola populations, reveals a constant search permeated by presences and absences, the which calls us to carry out research that contributes to uncovering its existence, as well as its demands, aiming to contribute to the Unified Health System for access to all citizens, in an equitable and resolutive way.
