Objective: to report experiences lived by nursing interns, from the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco, during their internship activities in a Basic Health Unit in the city of Petrolina-PE. This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, developed from the work of the interns in a primary care service from January to April 2022. Description of the experience: The activities developed during this period showed the challenges that involve the routine of the nursing professional, as well as their attributions and responsibilities with the enrolled population. It is noteworthy that the experience allowed the approximation with the Unified Health System in a pandemic context, making it possible to identify the difficulties faced in the routine and the need to reinvent the work process to guarantee quality assistance to users. The activities developed and/or monitored were: care for respiratory symptoms; care for people with arboviruses; notification of diseases and injuries; vaccination; women's health and family and reproductive planning; prenatal; pregnancy outcome; child and adolescent health; actions aimed at screening and treating cases of leprosy; dressings and other procedures; shared query; home visit; territorialization and epidemiological profile; and health services management. Conclusions: The Supervised Curriculum Internship was configured as an important tool for personal and professional growth, based on the approximation with the work scenario and experiences that required clinical reasoning for decision-making in nursing.Downloads
