Parental alienation of elderly people in family conflicts: document analysis

Abstract

This study analyzes parental alienation against elderly people in family conflicts. It was grounded on the investigation of court decisions, that pointed to the category: evidence of family conflicts for parental alienation, which includes the difficulties in handling roles in the parent-child relationship, constancy of conflict in family relationships, and production of parental alienation with elderly people in situations of emotional vulnerability. It is concluded that parental alienation with the elderly people is common nowadays.
