Obesity is a chronic disease and has an alarming magnitude, associated with several pathologies, such as cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. In this case, arterial hypertension in children became a relevant concern, given the relation between excess adiposity and metabolic and inflammatory disorders that contribute to increased blood pressure. This integrative literature review aims to analyze the relationship between obesity and childhood hypertension, highlighting risk factors associated with both conditions. The research was conducted through a consultation of the PubMed and BVS databases, with a careful selection of 126 articles, of which 27 were subjected to a detailed analysis according to the eligibility criteria, resulting in the analysis of the results. It should be noted that the investigated studies lead to a solid association between obesity and hypertension in children, revealing a statistically relation between these conditions. Furthermore, dietary patterns emerge as determining elements for the risks associated with obesity, while the lack of physical activity directly correlates with the concomitant development of obesity and hypertension.References
