Mental health, resistance and citizenship: experience report of an anti-asylum radio

Abstract

This article reports the experience related to the construction, development and unfolding of the alternative radiophonic project “Se Liga Aí“ located in Belém-PA, Brazil, inserted in the city’s Psichosocial Atention Network, starred and produced by members of the Network. The narrative follows the experience of the main author of the study, aligned with the fenomenological and existencial presuppositions. This article’s objective is to report the attendance of the Radio and its effetcs in the city’s mental health services, as well as in its participants subjectivity. The narrative allowed to comprehend the Radio as a potential resistance strategy against the recent dismantle directed to the brazilian Psychiatric Reformm, besides promoting autonomy and citizenship to its participants. The radiophonic project is also a singular experience in the shaping and permanente education of the authors.
