Abstract

This article considers the changes in the course of the digital transformation process, especially in the context of the Covid19 Pandemic, to discuss the need to guarantee both a digital transformation in health that advances in the perspective of expanding access and the quality of the system of health, as much as a public governance and the protection of the given people of the cities and towns. In the sections that follow the introduction, we address each of the four aspects of the digital transformation process in health that both the public and private sectors have focused on: the computerization of health services and work processes; the integration and exchange of information between professionals and services; remote service; and the use of artificial intelligence. In each of these sections, justifications for the implementation of these aspects emphasized in health systems are pointed out, evidenced advances are highlighted and reflects on potential risks to data privacy and inappropriate commercial use and harmful to people. At the end of each section, some suggestions are pointed out that can mitigate the risks and improve current legislation, in particular the General Data Protection Law. Finally, it is argued that policies and strategies should be built in Brazil that combine protection and security of personal data, improvement of the health system and sustainable and inclusive economic-social development.
